Refractory coke

Coke is also called \\"coking lump\\", \\"coke residue\\".When the coal is heated to above 850°C in the boiler furnace, as the temperature increases, the organic matter in the coal decomposes. After the volatile product escapes, the remaining non-volatile product is coke.These include fixed carbon that can be burned and combustion residue-ash.When it burns, it emits a short blue flame and releases a lot of heat.The combustion process is slow and long-lasting, and it is easy to form a ash crust on the surface.In order to make the coke burn out, try to remove its ash shell in time.The physical properties of coke (such as cohesiveness, etc.) have a greater impact on the operation of the stratified furnace.

Coke output accounts for about 75% of coking products.Coke is mainly used for ironmaking, and it accounts for about 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of pig iron production.The blast furnace smelting process is actually a process of reducing iron ore, and coke acts as a reducing agent and a source of heat.

Coke can also be used in the fertilizer industry. It uses the action of coke, steam and air to produce semi-water gas, and then combines hydrogen with nitrogen in the air to produce ammonia.Coke is also a reactant for the production of acetylene, calcium cyanamide, carbon disulfide and electrodes, and it is also an important raw material for the city gas industry.From the perspective of the distribution of China's coke production, the geographical distribution of China's coking enterprises is unbalanced, mainly in North China, East China and Northeast China.

The higher the fixed carbon of the coke, the better, and the less ash, the better.Its particle size has a great influence on smelting.Coke with large particle size has small specific resistance and strong conductivity. It is difficult to insert the electrode. The heat loss of the electric furnace is increased. The reaction surface of coke with large particles is also small, and the reduction capacity is correspondingly reduced. Therefore, adding large coke into the furnace will deteriorate the furnace condition. .Coke with a small particle size has a large specific resistance and a large contact surface, which will cause the electrode to be inserted deeply and reduce heat loss. However, if the particle size is too small, it will reduce the gas permeability of the charge and cause the puncture to collapse the material.
